hey, Ryan,
star office 5.0 prefinal (German) seems to handle up to word97. However,
it missed a snapshot bitmap I inserted in a word97 doc.
It also can save its own spreadsheet as excel 97,95,5.0. So, I would
assume it can open it as well. didn't tried for real though.
Not quite sure about powerpoint. I have it running at work. If you are
interested, let me know, off the list. I can check it out for you.
English version is on the way. 5.0 Final is on the way. just need to wait
if you don't want to pay for a decent Office for Linux. The post deadline
is Oct. 15 for 5.0 Final. probably need to wait till end of the month.
www.stardiv.de up-to-date news. need to guess. I don't know a
word in German.
www.stardiv.com under construction. stale news.
the GUI for the office is quite self-explaining and close to MS office
look & feel, so, I don't have problem to use it, although a little
knowledge of German will help.
Good luck.
Jerry Yu
