K Desktop Environment, originally Kool Desktop Environment, but I bet
they won't admit that anymore. www.kde.org for more information.
It's a window manager + toolkit + desktop and related apps, and uses
the QT library, from www.troll.no (?)

The GNU attempt to do the same...a desktop environment. Not as far
along, but theoretically better...I won't say, I don't use either.

Ok, time to spot the patterns...www.samba.org. =)
Samba is one of the greatest pieces of software ever...it lets you
share your UNIX box in a Windows 95/NT SMB network...and the beta2
stuff will let you do NT Domains without an NT server. Tres cool.
