THIS MONTH:
Danny Cox presents: "My Dinner with Andrew"
My wife found a great deal on airfare to Australia, so we went. While
there, we travelled to Canberra, the capitol, and met with Andrew Tridgell,
the author of Samba and Rsync. He showed me "the worlds largest SMP Linux
machine" (his description), and other neat geek stuff. He explained his
Ph.D. Thesis topic, "rsync", which is a fascinating way to update files,
sending only the differences, without either side storing any history.
Pop on by for a grand time of Aussie geek fun, aye, mate?
