[ale] problem with mailing list

I have a friend who uses linux and wants to get into the ale mailing list,
but he uses excite mail. He's tried subscribing the regular way, but that
doesn't work because at the bottom of every emal he sends there's a little
ad that talks about excite mail. I was wondering if the head of the mailing
list could add his email address in manually, his email address is:
darthpenguin at mailexcite.com.
