I don't know how elaborate you want to get with this, but I just played
around with a few things.  For example, in one of my xterm windows I typed:

exec > /dev/tty2

Now the output of the window goes to /dev/tty2.  I did the same thing between
two virtual terminals.  Now you can have a script or program do the same
thing, that is redirect the standard out to another tty.  Stderr works to,
although I did not try standard is, and this sounds like what you really
want. Maybe this will get someone else's creative juices flowing...
