[ale] PPP and RedHat 4.0

Do you also have a network card in your computer?  If so then your default
route is already set when pppd is started and it can't set ppp0 to the default
route.  One solution is to delete the default route just before starting up ppp
or you could work with the routing table.  If your computer is geting a
dynamically assigned IP address when you connect to the remote system and you
want to foward IP trafic to your other computers then you'll have to look at
the IP firewall tools along with IP masqerade.
