Yes, that is true. Especially code unsing libg++ which has been
deprecated. However, egcs is not alone in this area, when gcc release 2.8
comes out the same problem will occur. It is not rare for new feature
releases -- of gcc,borland,microsoft, or any other compiler -- to force
some code changes when a new feature release comes out, especially when it
relates to C++. The fact that egcs was released before gcc 2.8 (thanks
God <grin>) just hides the issue.
