AMD 5K86, 6K86, and Cyrix 6x86 will all use the OpenPIC architecture. This is a new
standard for simmetric multiprocessing and is said to be more flexable than intel's
propreitary APIC, which the others would have to pay royalty to use. In intel's APIC the
interrupt controller is on board the CPU, While in OpenPIC the chipset takes care of all
that. Supposedly more interrupts are available and so on.
