Meeting

I have tentatively reserved room 201 of the College of Computing for a
meeting that will serve as an Intro to Linux for new-users and a first time
meeting for folks on the gtlinux at cc mailing list. The room is reserved from
4pm to 6pm on October 12th. Since this meeting is primarily for Ga Tech
folks I wanted to see how many of the gtlinux at cc folks would be interested
in attending.

The plan for the meeting is as follows but in no particular order

a 20 minute talk on "What is Linux".
how to use the "term" package on both PRISM and CoC machines
how to setup a minimal Linux setup using the Slackware 2.0 distribution
how to make my machine secure over the net

Each of the above talks woudl be an abbreivated 10 to 15 minute talk.
Nothing special. Just the facts. Handouts will be provided.

I would be looking for some volunteers to actually do the talks as well.
After all, I really don't think anybody wants to hera me rant and rave for 2
hours.

Anyway, comments, questions, and suggestions are requested.
