\nTHE TAILGATE SWAP MEET and
\nFreeIT Donation Drive:
\n<\/strong>
\n— This event will be held in the Emory Law School ground
\nlevel parking lot (immediately East of the Law School
\nbuilding) preceding the regularly scheduled ALE Central
\nmonthly meeting for Thursday, July 16th. The Swap Meet
\nwill run from 6:00 pm to ~7:15 pm with the ALE monthly
\nmeeting following at 7:30pm.<\/p>\n
\nvolunteers for FreeIT will be on hand to accept donations
\nof computers, components and related items for that
\norganization’s work delivering low cost computers and
\nFOSS to educational institutions, non profit groups and less
\nprivileged communities. Please see the FreeIT “wish list”
\nat the FreeIT Athens Donations Page<\/a>
\nfor details on needed equipment and support.<\/p>\n
\nhelpful at present, but anything on the wish list will be
\nwelcomed. Donated equipment will be stored by Atlanta
\nvolunteers until they are delivered to FreeIT on Saturday,
\nJuly 18th, with the FreeIT Athens Build Party Road Trip.<\/p>\n
\nThe FreeIT Athens
\nBUILD PARTY ROAD TRIP:
\n<\/strong>
\n— This volunteer event will be taking place on Saturday,
\nJuly 18th, 2009 from 10:30am to ~7:30pm. The plan is
\nto travel as a group to the FreeIT facilities in Athens,
\nGeorgia and spend the afternoon building, repairing,
\nassembling and installing Linux computer systems
\nthat will be donated to regional educational institutions,
\nnon profit groups and community members in need.<\/p>\n
\npooling, the Road Trip caravan to FreeIT Athens will
\ncongregate at the Fry’s parking lot (S.W. corner) near
\nI-85 and Pleasant Hill road, adjacent to the Gwinnett
\nPlace Mall. Volunteers should arrive between 10:00am
\nand 10:30am as we hope to depart by 10:45am and
\narrive at FreeIT in Athens by about Noon. Plans are
\nto work at FreeIT until about 6:00pm, then drive out
\nto arrive back at Frys by 7:30pm.<\/p>\n
\naccepted in the Frys parking lot (S.W. corner) from
\n10:00am until departure time. Please see the FreeIT
\ndonations page<\/a> for specifics. <\/p>\n
\na group lunch order; collections will be taken and food
\nordered upon arrival at FreeIT Athens. Donations of frosty
\nbeverages for the afternoon will also be most welcome.
\nDinner and post-road-trip frivolities at an establishment
\nin the vicinity of Gwinnett Mall may ensue as participating
\nvolunteers are motivated.<\/p>\n

\nas they see fit, though we request that you still RSVP to
\nhelp us better coordinate the event effort.<\/p>\n
