All friends and family are welcome and there is an open<br \/>\ninvitation for anyone who is interested in learning more about Linux<br \/>\nand GPL Open Source Software in a casual setting. Provided<br \/>\nrefreshments will be limited, so guest contributions of snacks and<br \/>\nbeverages, adult and otherwise, will be welcome. Coolers, ice and<br \/>\nutensils will all be available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The OSS Pecha Kucha Contest:<\/strong><br \/>\nAs topical entertainment for the evening everyone is invited<br \/>\nparticipate in our Geek version of a Karaoke contest and provide<br \/>\na (modified) <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pecha_Kucha\">Pecha Kucha<\/a> style presentation on a Linux or Open<br \/>\nSource related topic.  Presenters will be alloted 10 minutes at<br \/>\nthe microphone and 20 computer slides** to fully enlighten the<br \/>\naudience with every single item of information there is to know<br \/>\nabout their Open Source related topic.  After all the Pecha Kucha<br \/>\nperformers are done, the audience will select their favorite and<br \/>\nthe winner will receive a copy of the recently published<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiley.com\/WileyCDA\/WileyTitle\/productCd-047025128X.html\">Linux Command Line and Shell Scripting Bible, <\/a><br \/>\nrated as 10 of 10, 5 Star, &#8220;Top Stuff&#8221; by Linux Format magazine.<br \/>\n(Pecha Kucha participants should also see AV Support** notes below.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Festivities:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe RRE facilities include a full audio recording studio (with two pianos,<br \/>\na few guitar amps, a PA, an analog synth, a trap kit and various hand<br \/>\ndrums and percussion toys), so jamming and drum circles can be enjoyed<br \/>\nin the later half of the evening.  There is also a large, private back yard<br \/>\nwith a fire pit, so weather and firewood supplies allowing, an outdoor<br \/>\nwarming fire may add &#8220;s&#8217;more&#8221; to the festivities and Solstice sacrifices<br \/>\nof SUSE swag may also be offered to the flames.<\/p>\n<p>=====<\/p>\n<p>* Location Details:<br \/>\nThe RRE facility is a large stone front house that is located a block West of<br \/>\nEmory law School and a few doors down Oxford Road from Everybody&#8217;s<br \/>\nPizza, Domino&#8217;s delivery station and the Saba restaurant. Street parking<br \/>\non the curbs is acceptable, and there is an adjacent paved lot where<br \/>\nparking in spaces not reserved for Saba is allowed.  Google maps has<br \/>\nsome good views of the street where you can see what&#8217;s what before<br \/>\nyou get there.<\/p>\n<p>** AV Support:<br \/>\nA VGA RGB data projector, a microphone and sound system connection<br \/>\n(1\/8&#8243; mini stereo) will be provided for Pecha Kucha presenters.  A Linux<br \/>\nlaptop with Ubuntu 8.04 install and a Mac G4 iBook (with DVD player) will<br \/>\nalso be available to support slide shows compatibly formated as OOo Impress<br \/>\npresentations or as a series of jpg, png or pdf files.
