{"id":70,"date":"2008-03-03T05:00:16","date_gmt":"2008-03-03T09:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ale.org\/new\/?p=70"},"modified":"2008-03-03T05:00:18","modified_gmt":"2008-03-03T09:00:18","slug":"the-return-of-the-ale-north-east-meetingthursday-march-6th-730pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ale.org\/?p=70","title":{"rendered":"THE RETURN OF THE ALE NORTH EAST MEETING<p>Thursday, March 6th, 7:30pm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ALE North East Meeting has found a new home at<br \/>\nGeorgia Gwinnett College in the Building C Auditorium<br \/>\nand will resume a regular schedule of meetings on the<br \/>\nFirst Thursday of each month at 7:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Map links and directions to Georgia Gwinnett College<br \/>\nlocation are posted at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ale.org\/new\/directions-to-the-ale-northeast-meeting\/\">side bar link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new volunteer meeting moderator for the N.E. group is<br \/>\nBrian MacLeod, and he will be also providing the main presentation<br \/>\nfor the N.E. meeting on Thursday, March 6th entitled:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Kickstart Your Linux Boxes&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Synopsis:<br \/>\nKickstart is an installation method created by Red Hat for the purpose<br \/>\nof quick deployment of Linux computers.  It is available for most Red<br \/>\nHat based distributions (CentOS, Fedora, etc).  I will go into some of<br \/>\nthe advantages and disadvantages of this method, and what gains we<br \/>\nhave made at Georgia Gwinnett College by using it.<\/p>\n<p>Bio:<br \/>\nBrian MacLeod is a Linux System Administrator and developing VOIP geek<br \/>\nat Georgia Gwinnett College.  He has worked for several University<br \/>\nSystem of Georgia institutions that have called Lawrenceville home,<br \/>\nand has previously presented at ALE meetings on Kickstart, SYSLINUX,<br \/>\nand DHCP Failover.<\/p>\n<p>Footnote:<br \/>\nThe meeting may also include further discussion about the direction of<br \/>\nALE-NE (jumping off from the Feb.
