{"id":389,"date":"2013-01-15T12:39:22","date_gmt":"2013-01-15T16:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ale.org\/?p=389"},"modified":"2013-01-15T12:39:22","modified_gmt":"2013-01-15T16:39:22","slug":"ale-central-mtg-for-thurs-jan-17-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ale.org\/?p=389","title":{"rendered":"ALE CENTRAL MTG. for Thurs., Jan. 17, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong> The feature presentation for our ALE Central Meeting<br \/>\nat 7:30pm on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 will be:<font size=\"+1\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Virtualization Management For The PHB<br \/>\nUsing Pretty Screens With Pointy Clicky Interfaces&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/font> with Jim Kinney <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis:<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8212; Jim will go over some nice features of two systems, ovirt<br \/>\nand cloudmin, and demonstrate how they can be used for<br \/>\nboth simple and enterprise-scale virtualization management.<br \/>\nShort-failings of each will also be moaned over.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bio:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c- James (Jim) Kinney became a zealous fan of Linux and<br \/>\nLiberated Open Source Software the first time he saw a<br \/>\ndiscarded Next Cube running Slackware in 1992.  In the<br \/>\n20 years since his introduction to Linux &#038; FLOSS goodness,<br \/>\nJames transformed his obsession into a career. First at Emory<br \/>\nUniversity where he taught physics, converted their computer<br \/>\nlab to Linux and helped co-found LUGE, the Linux Users Group<br \/>\nof Emory. Next followed a 10+ year stint as an entrepreneur<br \/>\nLinux &#038; Open Source consultant.
