\npresented by Dr. Flavio Villanustre & Arjuna Chala,
\nand featuring a Door Prize giveaway of

\nSynopsis:<\/strong><\/em>
\n— HPCC (High Performance Computing Cluster) is an open source
\nmassive parallel-processing computing platform that solves
\nBig Data problems. An overview of the HPCC Systems architecture
\nand its major components including Thor, Roxie and ECL will be
\npresented along with how this platform compares to other big data
\ntechnologies like Hadoop. System requirements covering the
\nsupported Linux distributions will be reviewed. Also included will
\nbe a demo of how this platform can integrate with Pentaho
\nSpoon\/Kettle for powerful data ETL capabilities.

\nSpeaker Bios:<\/em>
\n— Dr Flavio Villanustre —<\/strong>
\n– VP Infrastructure & Products, HPCC Systems and LexisNexis –
\n Flavio is the Vice President of Infrastructure and Products. In this
\nposition, Flavio is responsible for Information and Physical Security,
\noverall infrastructure strategy and new product development.
\nPreviously, Flavio was Director of Infrastructure for Seisint. Prior to
\n2001, Flavio served in a variety of roles at different companies
\nincluding Infrastructure, Information Security and Information
\nTechnology. In addition to this, Villanustre has been involved with
\nthe Opensource community for over 15 years through multiple
\ninitiatives. Some of these include founding the first Linux User Group
\nin Buenos Aires (BALUG) in 1994, releasing several pieces of software
\nunder different Opensource licenses, and evangelizing Opensource
\nto different audiences through conferences, training and education.
\n— Arjuna Chala — <\/strong>
\n– Architect Integrations, HPCC Systems and LexisNexis –
\nArjuna is responsible for providing strategic and technology direction
\nfor the analytics and business intelligence components of the
\nHPCC platform.<\/p>\n
