An overview of the HPCC Systems architecture<br \/>\nand its major components including Thor, Roxie and ECL will be<br \/>\npresented along with how this platform compares to other big data<br \/>\ntechnologies like Hadoop. System requirements covering the<br \/>\nsupported Linux distributions will be reviewed.  Also included will<br \/>\nbe a demo of how this platform can integrate with Pentaho<br \/>\nSpoon\/Kettle for powerful data ETL capabilities.<br \/>\n<strong><em><br \/>\nSpeaker Bios:<\/em><br \/>\n&#8212; Dr Flavio Villanustre &#8212;<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; VP Infrastructure &#038; Products, HPCC Systems and LexisNexis &#8211;<br \/>\n Flavio is the Vice President of Infrastructure and Products. In this<br \/>\nposition, Flavio is responsible for Information and Physical Security,<br \/>\noverall infrastructure strategy and new product development.<br \/>\nPreviously, Flavio was Director of Infrastructure for Seisint. Prior to<br \/>\n2001, Flavio served in a variety of roles at different companies<br \/>\nincluding Infrastructure, Information Security and Information<br \/>\nTechnology. In addition to this, Villanustre has been involved with<br \/>\nthe Opensource community for over 15 years through multiple<br \/>\ninitiatives.
