We are happy to announce that, following up on a very
\nsuccessful SPSU install fest event on August 25th,
\nthe organizers of the new ALE-NW @ SPSU group
\nwill be hosting their first monthly meeting on
\n
\nThursday, Sept. 8th, 7:30pm
\nin room J101 on the SPSU campus
\n<\/strong>
\nThe format plan for the ALE@ SPSU meetings is
\nto offer 2 to 4 short form presentations with an
\nemphasis on follow up discussion. A featured
\npresentation at this first meeting will be:

Synopsis:
\n— The Secure Shell, or SSH, is a powerful communications
\ntool most often used for securely accessing a command-
\nline session on a remote system. There is much more to
\nSSH than that. This talk will introduce SSH, and discuss
\napplications including secure file transfer, accessing
\nservices behind a firewall, and running graphical
\napplications remotely. Specific topics include:
\n– Starting with SSH
\n– SSH Keys
\n– Secure File Copying (SCP)
\n– Port Forwarding
\n– X11 Forwarding
\n<\/strong>
