Synopsis:
\n— The presentation will be an overview of the current employment
\nmarket for Linux IT professionals and FLOSS developers with
\nattention to trends being seen in the Linux Administration, LAMP
\nDevelopment and over all OpenSource (FLOSS) Technology
\nmarket in the Atlanta area. Based on these trends of supply and
\ndemand, we will discuss points of resume and interviewing, as
\nwell as job hunting tips and strategies, with additional Q & A
\nwelcomed. We will also discuss how to work with recruiters
\neffectively, with a focus on how to help recruiters be more
\neffective for you.<\/p>\n

Bio:
\n— As the Vice President of Recruiting, Ari Waller is responsible
\nfor providing management and recruiting leadership for
\nThompson Technologies, where he has been employed for
\nnearly 15 years. Despite the fancy title, Ari’s professional
\npassion is technical recruiting, and he takes a “very hands”
\non approach in the day-to-day staffing operations with his
\nteam. Ari joined Thompson Technologies in 1996 as a
\ntechnical recruiter and has progressively expanded his duties
\nand expertise. As one of the lead technical recruiters, a role
\nwhich he held until his promotion to Manager in 2005, and
\nDirector in 2006, Ari has personally placed over 600 technical
\nprofessionals nationally and locally in a variety of skills sets.
\nHe is responsible for the overall recruiting and sourcing strategy
\nfor Thompson Technologies’ in the local Atlanta area and
\nNationally. He also has Account Executive responsibilities
\nfor strategic client relationships.
\n— Ari has been residing in the Atlanta area for the past 15
\nyears with his wife and three children, with one more child
\non the way in July.<\/p>\n

\nThe meeting will be held at Emory Law School in our
\nusual Gambrel Hall, room 1C venue.
\nOur meeting time frame is 7:30pm to ~9:30pm
