“An OpenSUSE 11.3 Launch Party!”<\/font>
\nwith Chuck Payne, regional OpenSUSE Ambassador<\/p>\n

Come and be one of the first to get copies of OpenSUSE 11.3,
\nthe lastest release from the OpenSUSE Community, plus learn
\nmore about the OpenSUSE Build Service 2.0 and the “Li-F-E”
\n(Linux For Education) distribution.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Synopsis:
\n— The openSUSE Project is a community program sponsored by Novell,
\nAMD and IP Exchange. Its main goal is promoting the use of Linux
\neverywhere by developing the OpenSUSE Linux distribution and by
\nproviding an environment for open source collaboration through tools
\nsuch as the OpenSUSE Build Service. Since it is an open project,
\nanyone can contribute to the OpenSUSE project by editing the wiki,
\ntranslating the distribution, creating software patches, developing
\nrpm packages, reporting bugs or suggesting features.<\/p>\n

The goals of the OpenSUSE project include:
\n * Make OpenSUSE the easiest Linux distribution for anyone to
\nobtain and the most widely used open source platform.
\n * Provide an environment for open source collaboration that
\nmakes OpenSUSE the world’s best Linux distribution for both new
\nand experienced Linux users.
\n * Dramatically simplify and open the development and packaging
\nprocesses to make OpenSUSE the platform of choice for Linux kernel
\nand application developers.
\n * Become the simplest Linux distribution while providing a
\nmaximum number of packages.<\/p>\n

Bio:
\n— Chuck Payne is a Linux System Administrator who has been an
\nan active member of the OpenSUSE community since October,
\n2009, becoming an Ambassador for OpenSUSE in April, 2009.
\nHe has given talks at Atlanta, Texas and Southeast Linux Fests
\nto spread the word about OpenSUSE to the masses while
\nhanding out a few cute stuffed “Geekos”. He was working for
\nthe Travel Channel Media as one of their Linux admin until
\nJune 2010.<\/p>\n
