Its main goal is promoting the use of Linux<br \/>\neverywhere by developing the OpenSUSE  Linux distribution and by<br \/>\nproviding an environment for open source collaboration through tools<br \/>\nsuch as the OpenSUSE Build Service. Since it is an open project,<br \/>\nanyone can contribute to the OpenSUSE project by editing the wiki,<br \/>\ntranslating the distribution, creating software patches, developing<br \/>\nrpm packages, reporting bugs or suggesting features.<\/p>\n<p>The goals of the OpenSUSE project include:<br \/>\n   * Make OpenSUSE the easiest Linux distribution for anyone to<br \/>\nobtain and the most widely used open source platform.<br \/>\n   * Provide an environment for open source collaboration that<br \/>\nmakes OpenSUSE the world&#8217;s best Linux distribution for both new<br \/>\nand experienced Linux users.<br \/>\n   * Dramatically simplify and open the development and packaging<br \/>\nprocesses to make OpenSUSE the platform of choice for Linux kernel<br \/>\nand application developers.<br \/>\n   * Become the simplest Linux distribution while providing a<br \/>\nmaximum number of packages.<\/p>\n<p>Bio:<br \/>\n&#8212; Chuck Payne is a Linux System Administrator who has been an<br \/>\nan active member of the OpenSUSE community since October,<br \/>\n2009, becoming an Ambassador for OpenSUSE in April, 2009.<br \/>\nHe has given talks at Atlanta, Texas and Southeast Linux Fests<br \/>\nto spread the word about OpenSUSE to the masses while<br \/>\nhanding out a few cute stuffed &#8220;Geekos&#8221;.
