So please join our regional OpenSUSE<br \/>\nAmbassador, Chuck Payne, as he showers the crowd with free<br \/>\n11.2 install disks and discusses the work behind all the feature<br \/>\nadditions and updates found in the latest OpenSUSE offering.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck will additionally explain how any user can tinker with<br \/>\nOpenSUSE by building their own distro or appliance package<br \/>\nusing the SUSE Studio online services.<\/p>\n<p>Light refreshments and s.w.a.g. (courtesy of Novell \/ SUSE)<br \/>\nare also expected, along with a concerted effort to answer<br \/>\nanyone&#8217;s questions about OpenSUSE and the 11.2 release.<\/p>\n<p>Bio:<br \/>\n&#8212; Chuck &#8220;PUP&#8221; Payne has been working with computers since<br \/>\nhis parents gave him an Atari 130XE for his 16th birthday.<br \/>\nComputing turned from hobby to career in 1998, the year he<br \/>\nstarted exploring GNU Linux with Slackware, Red Hat and SUSE,<br \/>\nand took on his first job as a System Administrator.   He is<br \/>\ncurrently employed by Travel Channel Media as a Unix Systems<br \/>\nAdmin, where day to day tasks include managing 70+ Red Hat<br \/>\nLinux Servers,  20 Solaris Servers, and a handful of Mac XServers.<br \/>\nHe also helps out with web development in the areas of Apache<br \/>\nand JBOSS administration.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2009 Chuck&#8217;s application to be a regional volunteer<br \/>\nambassador for OpenSUSE was accepted, facilitating his goals<br \/>\nof helping people discover the benefits of Free Software,<br \/>\nGNU\/Linux and the OpenSUSE distributions.
